Christian Education
![]()
Our Christian education program strives to meet the needs
of the children and adults who wish to gain a deeper understanding
of who God is and what it means to have a personal relationship with
Him through Jesus Christ. We offer classes for children 3 years of
age through grade nine at which point youth affirm their Baptism through
the Rite of Confirmation. After Confirmation, we continue to
provide spiritual nurture to our youth through our Youth Programs.
Director of Youth Discipleship - Linda Lenhart, has
been doing a fantastic job with the Youth since starting in April.

For adults, we offer regular Bible studies on Sunday
morning and periodic weeknight Bible studies throughout the year.
We offer both traditional Bible Studies, Manuscript Bible Studies,
and Topical Bible Studies
Currently, we have over 90 people enrolled in our Sunday
school program. We have a ratio of 1 teacher for every 10 children
who volunteer their time on a weekly basis. Our regular Sunday
school year starts out in the month of September.
Vacation Bible
School, a lively program that includes drama, music, puppetry, story
telling, crafts, and games is an experiential exploration of the
Christian faith and practice. The children and adult volunteers
always enjoy this week-long event.
Here is a partial list of activities that you can look
forward to seeing throughout the course of the Sunday school year:

-
The second week in December is the Sunday school Christmas
Pageant, held during the worship service.
-
We hold an annual Easter egg hunt for the children.

-
Confirmation Sunday.
-
Year-end attendance ceremony held during worship service in
June.
-
Recognition of our high school and college graduates.
-
Vacation Bible school to be held during the month of
June.
-
Youth Group meetings and activities.
During the months of September through June, Sunday school
meets from
9:00 to
10:00 a.m.
Throughout the entire year, we hold
"Children's Church" on the
last Sunday of each month during a portion of our regular worship
service.

Our Sunday school teachers teach from curriculum entitled
Seasons of the Spirits, which
will
provide God's people
with lectionary-based, ecumenical resources that empower all ages to
be transformed in Christ as they:
- explore meaning and mystery in the Bible;
- celebrate in worship, sacraments, education, and service;
- engage in ministries of love, justice, and witness;
- and live in inclusive communities of faith, shaped and led by
the Holy Spirit.

Our Confirmation program is a two year program and uses a
variety of curricula and utilizes field trips and retreats to
provide the comprehensive experience possible that will result in
more than mere knowledge about the Christian Faith but an actual
encounter with the living God. The curricula used is Affirming
Faith which is then supported with the mentoring program
Making
Disciples.
