Celebrate Music at Faith United Church of Christ

Of all the gifts that God gives to us, music is one of the greatest.  Music enables us to praise God with emotions that mere words can not as well as to awaken our minds and hearts to the presence of the Holy Spirit with us. 

We rejoice and thank God for the abundant talent that comes from this congregation.  Currently we have two choirs; a Senior Choir for Adults and a Children’s Choir for youth.

The music ministry at Faith United Church of Christ has many facets.  Chorale ensembles for the young voices and adults offer weekly anthems.  They present music from the 16^th to the 20^th centuries that may be framed in many forms that include motet, spiritual, ballad, or perhaps a hymn.  You might hear a solo vocalist or instrumentalist offering special music on a Sunday morning.   

Special events have included visiting musicians such as the Coldstream Guard Fanfare Trumpets assigned to the Queen of England, the Main Street Brass Quintet focusing on the literature for brass and organ, local college music ensembles, the Moravian College Choir, chamber music for flute, violin and cello and choral/instrumental groups from the region. 

We have also included contemporary/praise groups in our worship such as Heartsounds and Doxadzo.  Music is not confined to the worship hour.  We try of offer other musical events such as our summer band concert which has traditionally featured the music of the Red Hill Band. 

We do our absolute best to utilize the talent within our congregation as well as talent available to us through the wider community in order to embellish and enhance the worship of our God at Faith United Church of Christ.  Come and experience a celebration of God’s love through music!
